Our building was completed in 1927 by philanthropist and businesswoman, Melissa Dora Oliver Eakle. Our 10-story building stood as Amarillo's first skyscraper and utilized till the 1990s as an office building. The building sat vacant for 30 years before our ownership opened The Barfield Hotel in 2021.

We do offer a dry-cleaning service here at The Barfield for our hotel guests. Guests can drop off their laundry to our front desk Monday - Friday by 8 am to have it cleaned by 4 pm same day.
